Save Money With These Energy Incentive Programs

There are many energy related programs in RHI’s service area that can save you money because they offer “incentives to owners making energy saving improvements. The money is collected through a legislatively mandated utility tax, so consider it yours for the taking.   Scroll down to read about the programs below, or call RHI to talk with the owners directly.

2011 Federal Tax Credits f0r Energy Efficiency – Save up to $500
Summary: 10% of cost up to $500.  Expires December 31, 2011.   Subject property must be an existing home & your residence. New construction and rentals do not qualify. Read more at the RHI Federal Tax Credit Info Page

Focus on Energy Residential Buildings – Most customers save $300 – $800
Focus on Energy is Wisconsin’s energy savings initiative.  This program offers cash back rewards and is functions entirely independent of the Federal Tax Credits listed above.  This program requires a home energy evaluation including blower door and thermal imaging camera. WE Energies – Most customers of larger buildings save $500  – $2,000
This program is quick and easy and is for the home owner that wants an immediate savings. It does not require a whole house energy evaluation. This program is often most attractive to landlords and small business owners.

REEP – Racine Energy Efficiency Program
The Racine Energy Efficiency Program (REEP) offers upfront financing for energy saving improvements in homes located in the city of Racine. It is available to owner-occupied houses built from 1946 to 1975, and it covers such efficiency measures as insulation, air sealing, furnaces, water heaters, refrigerators and toilets. Homeowners pay for those improvements over a period of years, but payments will be less than estimated savings on energy and water. Read more at the RHI Focus on Energy Info Page

Focus on Energy New Homes Program – Most builders save $2,000
The Focus on Energy New Homes Program can help you make the most of that investment with a high-performance home that saves energy and money.  Any builder can say they build energy-efficient homes.
